Notes on methodological individualism: its application social sciences and particularly the Economy

Abstract

The problem I see is the perception, mainly in the field of Economics, as well as in sociology, of the usefulness of so-called methodological individualism in the explanation of social phenomena, for which I express some ideas that I believe could lead to an adequate synthesis of methodological approaches, traditionally used by economists and sociologists.
The ideas I am going to put forward are certainly not new, because they are already found in various authors, of whom I will make the right references, but they are a reflection of an important movement in the field of thought towards the study of methodological topics, because they had been set aside; although not quite, barely if they were incorporated into the academic curriculum, as something marginal to the main heart of discipline, at least in the field of Economics.
