Therapeutic Management of Migraine Headache in School-Aged Children Review Article

Abstract
Migraine is one of the most common primary headaches in children, leading to school absenteeism and reduced quality of life. Management requires a combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies, including trigger identification and family education . Clinical diagnosis based on International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd Edition (ICHD-III) criteria ensures appropriate treatment and avoids unnecessary investigations. Analgesics and Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) are first-line therapy, with triptans and preventive medications reserved for selected cases. Regular follow-up and individualized therapy optimize symptom control and reduce the educational and social impact of migraine in school-aged children.
